Time Limit for Income Tax Filing

What is the income tax filing last date? Filing income tax returns is, by far, an important thing for a  responsible Pakistani. Each tax year, the Federal Board or Revenue (FBR), which is responsible for collecting all kinds of taxes in Pakistan, set a deadline to file income tax returns. Usually, this last date happens to be the last date of a month.

2017  Last Date for Tax Filing

As the last date of income tax return filing approaches, people start filing tax returns. This way, the income tax authorities feel inundated and left with no choice but to extend the date of income tax returns filing. This keeps happening for two to three months at least.

For the tax year 2016-2017, the last date for the income tax returns filing was 31st August 2017. Due to increased demand in the late August, FBR extended the deadline to the 31st September 2017 and then to 15th November 2017. This happened again, by the mid of November, the situation was the same – greater number of income tax filers. So 30th November 2017 is the income tax filing last date as we write this post.

• 5th Deadline: 30th November 2017

FBR’s Income Tax Filing Last Date

So far, the last date for the income tax returns filing is 30th November 2017. So make haste and do it before the last date.
